Maharah: The Journey of Selection and Excellence
At Maharah School, we embarked on an exceptional phase brimming with challenges and tests that engaged everyone—the phase of registration and selection, which commenced at the beginning of December 2023. After detailed considerations and tremendous efforts, we successfully selected trainees for our training program.
The journey commenced on December 5, 2023, with the launch event to announce the project's initiation, followed by the commencement of registrations. We attracted a massive number of applicants in Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sabha. On the last day, December 13, 2023, the number of registration requests reached a staggering 2134!
Following a meticulous sorting process based on selection criteria, we progressed to the next stage—the online examination that assessed the participants' levels. The examination saw participation from 1648 individuals.
Diligently, we corresponded with all participants, providing details, guidelines, and examination access. The first examination took place on December 17. To ensure inclusivity, we granted a second chance to those who missed the initial exam, held the following day, December 18.
Upon completion of the examination phase and selection of qualified, we moved to the subsequent stage—interviews. The Maharah School team exerted tremendous effort, conducting over 450 interviews in the short period between December 20 and 28. Scheduling nearly 100 to 120 interviews per day divided among four Maharah teams. All this came after timely communication of details, interview times, links, and guidelines to every participant.
Finally, after concluding the interviews, we embarked on the culmination of this journey—the final selection process based on precise and multiple criteria. Each participant was assessed based on their commitment, passion for the project, technical expertise, and other standards governing their suitability and merit for acceptance.
The selection and decision-making process were highly competitive due to the large number of participants. Considering the project's limited capacity, we meticulously selected the most suitable among the vast number of qualified applicants who reached this stage.
Now, at the end of this challenging journey, we have successfully selected our trainees on December 28, taking numerous factors into account. The selected 127 individuals from across Libya—61 in the Fullstack Web Development path and 66 in the Mobile Application Development path, including specialized training for trainers to lead in the programming field.
They have all received an email outlining their schedule, training course locations by city, along with a training program guide, terms and conditions, and more details relevant to them.
Post Selection: Towards Maharah!
We are eagerly looking forward, with dedication and enthusiasm, to the next stage: the actual training, spanning January and February 2024 in the three cities, synchronized with a detailed program enhancing their skills and increasing employment opportunities in Libya's local programming landscape.
We are poised to witness the success of our trainees in this exciting program!
