The Maharah Urban-Tech Bootcamp is a multidisciplinary innovation programme implemented by Libyan Spider in partnership with UNDP Libya, with the generous support of the Embassy of Italy, to empower young innovators to address urban challenges through technology and collaboration.
Through an intensive three-week bootcamp, participants from diverse disciplines developed four innovative Urban-Tech solutions addressing real challenges across Greater Tripoli, culminating in their presentation at the Maharah Urban-Tech Demo Day and paving the way for further development and implementation.
From community consultation to solution uptake — the initiative moved from understanding the city, to selecting a cohort, to building and presenting working prototypes.

The initiative began with an urban assessment that combined focus groups, surveys, stakeholder engagement, and urban data analysis to understand the realities and priorities of Greater Tripoli.
These findings guided participants in identifying challenge areas and developing the four Urban-Tech solutions.

Following the open call, the Maharah Urban-Tech Initiative received 212 applications from young professionals and recent graduates across diverse disciplines.
Eligible applicants underwent a structured selection process combining application screening and competency-based interviews, leading to the selection of 18 participants, of whom 15 joined the three-week Urban-Tech Bootcamp.
Over the course of three intensive weeks, participants combined technical learning, field engagement, and multidisciplinary collaboration to develop innovative solutions addressing real urban challenges across Greater Tripoli.

The Maharah Urban-Tech Demo Day marked the culmination of the bootcamp, bringing together representatives from government institutions, development partners, academia, and the private sector.
Hosted at the Libya National Museum (The Red Castle), the event reflected the belief that innovation begins by understanding and valuing our urban and cultural heritage.

As part of the initiative's uptake phase, Libyan Spider hosted Maharah Urban-Tech Connect, bringing together the Maharah teams with representatives from UNDP Libya, the Embassy of Italy, Tripoli Central Municipality, academia, and the private sector. The event provided a platform for participants to present the progress of their solutions following the bootcamp and institutional engagement phase, while receiving valuable feedback and engaging in discussions on potential partnerships.
Beyond the presentations, the event fostered meaningful networking and knowledge exchange, creating opportunities to connect innovative urban solutions with organizations interested in supporting their further development, piloting, and future implementation.

وخلال مخيم تدريبي مكثف امتد لثلاثة أسابيع، عمل مشاركون من تخصصات متنوعة على تطوير أربعة حلول مبتكرة في مجال التكنولوجيا الحضرية، تستجيب لتحديات واقعية في نطاق طرابلس الكبرى.
واختُتم المخيم بعرض الحلول خلال يوم العرض النهائي لمبادرة مهارة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية، تمهيدًا لمواصلة تطويرها وتعزيز فرص تطبيقها.
انتقلت المبادرة من فهم المدينة وتحديد تحدياتها، إلى اختيار المشاركين، ثم تطوير النماذج الأولية وعرضها، وصولًا إلى دعم استمرارية الحلول وتعزيز فرص تطبيقها.
مدينة طرابلس
بدأت المبادرة بتقييم حضري جمع بين مجموعات النقاش المركزة، والاستبيانات، والتواصل مع أصحاب المصلحة، وتحليل البيانات الحضرية؛ بهدف فهم واقع طرابلس الكبرى وتحديد أولوياتها وتحدياتها.
أسهمت هذه النتائج في توجيه المشاركين نحو تحديد مجالات التحدي وتطوير الحلول الأربعة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية.
المشاركين في المخيم
بعد إطلاق باب التسجيل، استقبلت مبادرة مهارة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية 225 طلبًا من الشباب المهنيين وحديثي التخرج من تخصصات متنوعة.
وخضع المتقدمون المؤهلون لعملية اختيار منظمة، جمعت بين مراجعة الطلبات وإجراء مقابلات قائمة على الكفاءات. وأسفرت عن اختيار 18 مشاركًا، انضم منهم 15 مشاركًا إلى مخيم التكنولوجيا الحضرية الذي امتد لثلاثة أسابيع.
على مدار ثلاثة أسابيع تدريبية مكثفة، جمع المشاركون بين التعلم التقني، والتفاعل الميداني، والعمل ضمن فرق متعددة التخصصات، لتطوير حلول مبتكرة تستجيب لتحديات حضرية واقعية في نطاق طرابلس الكبرى.
لحظات من المخيم جمعت بين الجلسات التي قدمها الخبراء، وورش العمل التطبيقية، والإرشاد، والعمل اليومي للفرق المشاركة داخل شركة العنكبوت الليبي.

عكست آراء المشاركين تجربة تعليمية تفاعلية وعملية وذات أثر واضح طوال مدة البرنامج.
غيّر مخيم مهارة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية الطريقة التي أنظر بها إلى المدن والمساحات العامة. وأظهر لي كيف يمكن للتخطيط الحضري والتقنية أن يعملا معًا لبناء مجتمعات أكثر شمولًا واستدامة.

مثّل يوم العرض النهائي لمبادرة مهارة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية المحطة الختامية للمخيم، وجمع ممثلين عن المؤسسات الحكومية، وشركاء التنمية، والقطاع الأكاديمي، والقطاع الخاص.
اقيمت الفعالية في متحف ليبيا الوطني، في موقع يعكس أهمية فهم التراث الحضري والثقافي وتقديره بوصفه نقطة انطلاق للابتكار.
بعد ثلاثة أسابيع من التعلم والتطوير، قدّمت الفرق حلولها أمام لجنة التحكيم وممثلي المؤسسات، في محطة عكست تطور الأفكار ومهّدت لمرحلة ربطها بفرص التطبيق.
بعد أسابيع من تطوير الأفكار، وتصميم النماذج الأولية، وعرض الحلول خلال يوم العرض النهائي، اجتمعت فرق مبادرة مهارة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية مرة أخرى في فعالية Urban-Tech Connect، ولكن هذه المرة لم يكن الهدف تقديم المشاريع، بل مناقشة مستقبلها.
وجمع اللقاء ممثلين عن برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في ليبيا، وسفارة إيطاليا، وبلدية طرابلس المركز، والقطاع الخاص، والقطاع الأكاديمي، إلى جانب فرق المبادرة، في مساحة للحوار وتبادل الخبرات. واستعرضت الفرق التقدم الذي أحرزته حلولها بعد انتهاء المخيم، كما ناقشت نماذج الأعمال وفرص التعاون والشراكات لدعم انتقال الحلول من نماذج أولية إلى مشاريع أكثر جاهزية.

لم تكن مبادرة مهارة للتكنولوجيا الحضرية محطة تدريبية فحسب، بل بداية لمسار يربط بين المعرفة، والابتكار، والتطبيق.
ومن خلال الشراكة بين برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في ليبيا وشركة العنكبوت الليبي، أسهمت المبادرة في تمكين جيل جديد من المبتكرين، وتعزيز التعاون بين مختلف التخصصات والقطاعات، لإنتاج حلول تستجيب للتحديات الحضرية وتفتح آفاقًا جديدة لتطوير المدن.
وتبقى هذه النسخة خطوة أولى في رحلة تستمر بالنمو، مع كل فكرة جديدة، وكل شراكة جديدة، وكل حل يقترب أكثر من التطبيق على أرض الواقع.
